In the long winter months I love spending time in my garden, watching the plants seemingly sleep.
Rusty ferns and grasses, roses and hydrangeas, cut back almost to the ground, humble and bare, they look so cold.
Yet I tend them, knowing, expecting that they will come back full of life, double in size, full with the promise of new flowers, rich in colour and scent.
In the garden, so much of (winter) time goes into resting and preparing for a new season, a new spring.
